Baby Gear

Babies come with a TON of gear. Our tiny little house is holding more baby "equipment" than I ever imagined possible. We have two strollers, a high chair, a swing, a bouncer, a rocking chair, a crib, a changing table, a jumperoo, a bassinet, a carseat, and a massive bucket of toys. Here Davis is enjoying a couple of these...

Davis loves his swing! Every morning we get in our swing and watch a little Baby Einstein. Davis enjoys a little story while I enjoy my breakfast. Just recently he's started leaning forward in his swing...like this...

The Jumperoo is slowly becoming a favorite. Davis' feet don't quite touch the floor yet, so he isn't able to really jump in the Jumperoo. But there is still plenty of entertainment...as you can see...

We love the BOB. I love taking walks with Davis. He's so alert and enjoys watching everything going on with the neighbors.

Hippopotamuses

Last weekend we took Davis to the zoo for the first time! The SA Zoo is about 5 minutes from our house (crazy to think we practically live next door to a little piece of Africa) so the fact that we only stayed about an hour and a half didn't bother me. Plus, we have a year pass now, so it's a place we plan to visit often! Davis was precious in his zoo gear. It was a super sunny day so we covered his precious little fuzzy haired head with a hat and put on his sunglasses so he could clearly see the lions without squinting. I'm not sure how much Davis understood the concept of real elephants and crocodiles. I know he enjoyed the walk, he always loves being outside in his Baby Bjorn. One of his favorite Baby Einstein DVDs is called Baby Noah, it's about different animals, so I figured the zoo would be just as exciting. I think it might be too early for Davis to truly appreciate a real panther. The zoo didn't have the lively music and funny puppets like his DVD. But I'm glad we went, especially since Davis' DVD of all the animals shows cartoon animals. I don't want him to be too confused one day when he runs into a tiger, the real ones don't smile.

Teddy Bear Vest

My shopping priorities have been different lately. I never thought this would happen. Usually I head to Nordstroms and pick up a few things for myself. These days I make a b-line for Janie & Jack and Pottery Barn Kids. There are two reasons for this. 1) I fit back into all my clothes and because I didn't wear any of them last year (I was preggers), it's like I have all new clothes. Yes, out-dated a bit, but they feel new to me. 2) Davis is way more fun to shop for!!!! Janie & Jack is absolutely the cutest store for baby clothes!!!! Yes, a bit pricey, but when they have sales, they are totally worth it. I recently found some adorable teddy bear trousers and a teddy bear sweater vest! I also love Old Navy and TJ Max (they have a ton of POLO for our preppy little man). And of course, Pottery Barn Kids! Davis' bedding is from here and so anytime I buy something to go in his room, I know it will match. They are very consistent with their baby blues and greens! On a sad side note, PB Kids in SA just closed. I'm so so so sad. The sign on the window says, "come visit us at our closest location, AUSTIN!!!!" Ugh. Don't you worry, I'll be visiting that location. The sale did help me find this adorable wooden airplane that we are going to hang in Davis' room!

Last night I had a Junior League meeting, so it was a boys night for Forrest and Davis. They went to GameStop so Forrest could buy the Wii Super Mario game and they did a little work on the computer. This is the letter I got when I came home:

Make sure you check out the pictures of Davis and his babysitter, Collin (Kelly's husband). While we did nails, brunch, and rehearsal wedding stuff, Davis got to hang out with Collin. They took a walk, went to the book store, and watched some football together.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Time to pick out Davis' first Christmas tree, doesn't he look thrilled?

Waiting patiently for Dad to get the lights on the tree
Fast asleep before the decorating even started!
