Turning 4 is FUN!

My sweet tiny little baby boy (I gotta get that in there while I still can) just turned 4 last Saturday! I asked him how it feels to be 4 and he said he still feels 3, but already knows what kind of cake he wants when he turns 5. These are the important things in life.

We had another pool party this year and it was all things sports themed for our very active boy!

Eating the last bite of cake!

We got Davis a new bike for his birthday and he rode it like a champ all day long! He thinks the orange is "sooo cool" and our neighbors gave him an awesome blue string of lights to wrap around the bike bars. He's all set!

My best friend Kelly came in town to help celebrate Davis' birthday, so we made a weekend out of it with brunch the next morning for my birthday. We went to Anne Marie's Carriage House in the Botanical Gardens. I had never been or even heard of it, but found it on Yelp. It was quaint, off the beaten path, and delicious.

We don't need to capture my age with a candle anymore.
It can just say "OMG"

That look......

Happy Birthday Forrest!

Forrest turned the big 3-1 on Friday and we celebrated with a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs, lattes, presents, and Thompson birthday cake! This was all done one hour before taking Davis to school. Cake for breakfast! What a whirlwind of a great morning!

At Davis' school they sing Happy Birthday and then do an extra verse with the words, "God bless you today." He was singing for his daddy all morning.

"Daddy, your card says: Happy birthday, God bless you."

Singing Happy Birthday to you!

Davis blew out the candles and found it to be quite funny!

Cousin Eva and Aunt Mary stopped in for a visit too!
I'm pretty sure we sent him to school with chocolate in his hair!

Davis Turns 3!!!!!

We love July birthdays around here (yes, I realize it's well into August by now)!! Davis turned 3 and he could not have been more excited about his big day! The second he realized it was July (i.e. when the Disney channel announced, "it's July") he came bouncing into my room screaming with sheer delight, "Mom, mom, it's July, it's my birthday!" I was so proud he realized it was July and knew it was his birthday. I then realized I needed to also teach him that July has 31 days and he still had 27 days of July till his actual birthday. Sweet boy, July went by way too slow.

On his actual birthday I took the day off from work and we did whatever he wanted to do, which happened to be things I love to do too! We went on a walk, to Starbucks, to the park, lunch with his friends (and mine), to Target, and ended the day with dinner at Nana and Pop's.

He made us sing 3 times!

Ladder Golf!
His birthday party was the next day at our neighborhood pool. For the entire two hours, he climbed up the stairs and flew down the slide! Over and over and over again. According to him, he's a big boy now and doesn't need a life jacket. He is a pretty good swimmer. We had swim lessons the week before his birthday and since then, he's been diving inn and swimming to the side by himself!

Shooting out of the slide!

Serving everyone some fruit!

The Baker's came!

Happy 90th Grandma

In July, my Grandmother (Dad's mom) turned 90! It was a beautiful party complete with an accordion serenade. Grandma had four boys and luckily they married amazing women who know how to throw a party!

We started the night with a lovely spread of antipasto and a little video tribute to Grandma. Dinner and lots of wine followed with all our Italian favorites, Grandma's meatballs, stuffed shells, lasagna, and more. To make sure our bellies were full, we also devoured an Italian creme cake!

What more do you need than food to satisfy a couple Italians? Bocce, swimming, and an accordion of course!

Waiting for the video to begin!

Happy 90th Grandma! We love you!

Davis got a birthday gift too, he loves to fish! Thanks Dede!

Renee and Robert, proud Italians!

This is Davis' new dance move...head bobbing with one leg up.

Molly Turned One!

Dear Miss Molly -

You turned one and this is how we celebrated...
Swimming! A pool just my size!
Bouncy ball, bubbles, and sprinklers!
Ice Cream!
I don't remember what you ordered because I couldn't take my eyes off my ice cream selection!
You didn't want to wear your party hat!
Alex and I opened all your gifts. You got some really cool stuff, I especially loved the drum!
You got the biggest piece of cake and I had to wait till you finished to get a slice. We are going to practice getting a little faster for next year.
Alex and I watched golf! Get it in the hole!
Love, Davis
